My Challenge is to...
For 10 days I will do morning Gym/Exercise sessions and not watch TV/Youtube or use social media (unless it's for the uncomfortable challenge)

My challenge is uncomfortable for me because...
For anyone who knows me, waking up early is not my natural state. I only wake up in the morning because, unfortunately, society expects me to show up for work. Luckily, I don’t live too far away, so I can get away with waking up at a semi-human hour.
But getting up before work to exercise? That’s a whole new level….
I’ve got a complicated relationship with sleep, insomnia and I are pretty close. So voluntarily cutting it short to hit the gym sounds like something 2016 Ange would laugh at. Actually, I’m pretty sure I’ve said:
“I’ll never be one of those people who exercise in the morning.”
“The gym is boring.”
“There’s no way I’d wake up early to work out before work.”
Me on Sunday after a big night: “I can’t believe people actually wake up and go for a run, how annoying are they?” (sorry!)
So, naturally, I’ve decided to do exactly that.
For 10 days, I’m becoming what I’ve said I’d never be. A morning person. A gym person. A before-work gym person. Because if I can prove myself wrong about this… What other potential do I have?
The Other Part….
I’m also giving up TV, YouTube, and social media, except to promote this challenge and We Are Mobilise.
I always have something playing in the background. Silence makes me uncomfortable… more than you’d think. I tried a 7 day meditation challenge once and the stillness made me squeamish.
I think I use noise as a buffer, it keeps me from overthinking or being left alone with my own thoughts. So this challenge isn’t just physical; it’s about being okay with the quiet too.
It’s not a marathon or a mountain climb, but discomfort looks different for everyone. For me, this is mine.
Why It Matters
I’m doing this because everyone deserves safety, dignity, and a place to call home. The funds raised through Nedd’s Uncomfortable Challenge go directly to We Are Mobilise, who provide vital support for people experiencing homelessness. My company VIvCourt will also be matching every dollar raised!!
