My challenge is uncomfortable for me because...
I’m taking it up a notch this year—bigger and better than 2025, which was already a huge step up from my first NUC in 2024.
I started running because of NUC in 2024, and since then I’ve continuously put myself in uncomfortable situations that have taught me just how important discomfort is for growth. Every challenge has pushed me beyond what I thought I was capable of and helped me discover strengths I never knew I had.
The impact has gone far beyond fitness. Since beginning my NUC challenges, I’ve seen a huge shift in my confidence, resilience, strength, and sense of self. Each year has challenged me in different ways, and each year I’ve come out stronger because of it. 💪🏼✨

NUC DAY 1 🚀🦅
Friday 16th OctDAY 1 OF NUC: ABSOLUTE MADNESS 🤯
Today was absolute madness!! Day 1 of NUC really showed me what I’m about to put my body and mind through over the next 10 days.
It started with the BIGGEST surprise when I arrived at the pool at 6:00am and all my favourite people were there to support me (I had absolutely no idea). From that moment, I knew I could take on anything with these people backing me. ❤️
I smashed out my 1.5km swim in around 44 minutes. The first 1.5km swim I’ve done in TWO MONTHS… safe to say we were straight into the deep end (literally).
I then headed off to work, where we held a separate fundraiser for the Royal Flying Doctor Service. The kids did SO well, and it was amazing to watch everyone come together for such a great cause.
3:30pm rolled around, which meant it was time for the 10km run. I went into it fully expecting to cramp, but we got through with very little pain and only stopped for cars. AND somehow, I managed to get my second-fastest 10km time EVER. The last time I ran that fast was in November last year. A little reminder that your body is capable of so much more than you give it credit for. 🏃🏼♀️
I was feeling pretty comfortable with how the day was going… until the bike. LET’S JUST SAY IT KICKED MY ASS. The wind decided to put on a show, and the ride back into town was HARD. There was a point where I genuinely wasn’t sure if I could do it. The conditions had slowed me down so much that I made the call to finish the outdoor ride at 30km, head home, and jump on the exercise bike to knock out another 11km. Oh and I also got fkn demolished by the magpies on Main Street…
