My challenge is uncomfortable for me because...
…I want to know what I'm capable of, and you only ever find that out when things get hard. We've all got more in us than we think, and I'm about to get uncomfortable to prove it to myself. And it means something: every dollar I raise goes to We Are Mobilise, helping people experiencing homelessness across Australia get back on their feet. Thursday 1st OctI do Nedd’s Uncomfortable Challenge because I know what it feels like to have life get uncomfortable and I want to use the things I can do to help someone else find a way forward.
I’m doing this for the people who don’t have a safe place to sleep tonight. For the people who feel like they’ve run out of options. For the young people who have grown up without stability, safety or support.
I’m a mum of three, and one of the biggest things I want my kids to learn is that we can do hard things, but we don’t have to do them alone.
So yes, I’ll run the kilometres.
I’ll swim when I’d rather stay dry.
I’ll get on that bike I’d never even ridden before. 😂
I’ll push myself way outside my comfort zone.
But every uncomfortable moment has a purpose.
Because $36 can help provide someone with one night of safe housing. And if being uncomfortable for a few weeks can help someone else feel a little safer, a little more supported and a little less alone… I’ll take uncomfortable every single time.
