My challenge is uncomfortable for me because...

I’m a Aussie living over the pond in London. Coming from Mackay Queensland where seeing people struggling in homelessness isn’t a daily occurrence I guess you become a little naive on just how bad the situation is at moment for a lot of people. The cost of living at an all time high and everything else crazy thats happening in our cruel world.

Moving to the city of London definitely doesn’t hide these issue. There’s not many days where you leave the house and not see someone struggling or less fortunate. Working shift work here I regularly go through the city in early hours of the morning on the night bus. I go through the parts of London we all know to be glamorous and see in Instagram photos. But in the early hours of the nights these streets are lined with people camping out, among the filth that’s been left behind from that days chaos. It’s a hard thing to walk by while I’m on my way home to my roof over my head. I believe everyone deserves that and I hope while I get to have fun running with my mates that we can help put some of those roofs over those. 

…I want to know what I'm capable of, and you only ever find that out when things get hard. We've all got more in us than we think, and I'm about to get uncomfortable to prove it to myself. And it means something: every dollar I raise goes to We Are Mobilise, helping people experiencing homelessness across Australia get back on their feet.
