My challenge is uncomfortable for me because...

Last year, I took on the Nedds Uncomfortable Challenge by completing 30,000 steps every day throughout the challenge. It pushed me physically and mentally, but it also gave me a greater appreciation for the struggles faced by people experiencing homelessness.

This year, I wanted to test myself in a different way.

On Saturday 24th of October 2026 I’ll be walking 61 kilometres in a single day to raise funds and awareness for Australians doing it tough without a safe place to call home. This is half of the 122, representing the 122 000 homeless. 

There will be sore feet, tired legs and plenty of moments where I’ll want to stop. But at the end of my walk, I’ll be able to head home to a warm bed, a hot shower and the security of knowing where I’ll sleep that night.

For many people experiencing homelessness, that security doesn’t exist.

This challenge is my way of stepping outside my comfort zone and shining a light on an issue that affects far too many people in our communities. Every kilometre I walk is for those who face uncertainty every day, and every dollar raised will help provide support, essential services and hope.
