CHALLENGE: THE BURSTY 1000
It ain't our first rodeo, but this might be our toughest ride yet. For NUC 2026, Team Bursty is heading to the paddock in the middle of nowhere for the Backyard Beep Test. 1000 minutes. 20 metres. Back and forth on the beep, from 6am until 10:40pm, until the beep stops.
Some of us are going solo for the full 100km. Some are splitting it in a pair (50km each) or a team of four (25km each). None of us are doing it comfortably, which is sort of the point.
Because by no means is this a race. It's a raise. Every lap we run is for the 122,000 Australians who don't have a safe place to sleep tonight. Our goal is $40,000 for Nedd's Uncomfortable Challenge and We Are Mobilise, and every dollar helps get people experiencing homelessness the support they need.
