My challenge is uncomfortable for me because...

Although I love running, the challenge of running 15km a day for 10 days will be uncomfortable for me, as I find it particularly difficult to be consistent everyday and push myself to run further. I’d really like to participate in Nedd’s Uncomfortable Challenge so that I can learn to persevere even when it is difficult to do so and develop greater resilience, but more than that I want to be able to both contribute and raise funds for a good cause. 

I believe every person is entitled to the fundemantal human rights of having somewhere safe to live, and in a world where there are so many people, we should really learn to help and look out for each other. This is also the greatest way we can show God’s love through our service to others. In John 13:34, God calls us to love others the way he has loved us and to help those who are in need.

Everyone on this earth, whether they are rich or poor, housed or homeless are all God’s children and each one is important and should be treated as such. No one should be left alone on the streets having to fend for themselves.

For who is more deserving than another?

I have been fortunate enough to grow up in a family who has been able to provide for me in every way that I need; schooling, food, love and a home, but I know there are those who have been less fortunate and I believe that it is people like me who have the responsibility of using the privilege we have had to be generous and take initiative so that more people can live healthy, happy and safe lives! 

I hope that through this challenge, more homeless people will be able to receive the money and resources they need and that for those who witness this 10 day journey, I pray that they will really be impacted and come to know how many people are going without home and a shelter and that they too maybe moved to help in whatever capacity they are able. Because together, through our generosity and willingness to help, we can make a meaningful difference in the lives of those who need it most.
