Nightcliff Year 5 Takes on Nedd's Uncomfortable Challenge!

This term, Year 5 Field and Year 5 Elliott are joining forces to take part in Nedd's Uncomfortable Challenge, a nationwide initiative inspired by Australian endurance athlete Nedd Brockmann. The challenge encourages people to step outside their comfort zones, build resilience, show determination, and support others experiencing homelessness. 

As part of our challenge, students will work in small teams to complete a combined distance of 12.2 kilometres by walking, jogging, or running around our school oval. This distance has been chosen to represent the approximately 122,000 Australians who experience homelessness on any given night, helping students develop an understanding of compassion, empathy, and community responsibility. 

Throughout the challenge, students will demonstrate teamwork, perseverance, and a growth mindset as they encourage one another to keep going when things feel difficult. Inspired by Nedd's message to "get comfortable being uncomfortable," our students will discover that they are capable of achieving more than they may first believe.

We are excited to see our students embrace this opportunity to challenge themselves, support their teammates, and live out our school values.
