Run/walk 122km in 24 hours
for Nedd’s Uncomfortable Challenge
My challenge is uncomfortable for me because...
I haven't ran more than 42.2 km in one go.
This year I am attempting to run 122km within 24 hours. Starting at 7:00am on Friday the 23rd of October on Lindsay street, Invermay (Launceston) and finishing at 7:00am on Saturday the 24th.
And here’s what most people don’t know:
WE ARE MOBILISE: about homelessness
94% of them are hidden from view – on a friend’s couch, in a car, in overcrowded housing that falls below any minimum standard. What we see on the streets is just the surface.
Goal: to help make a difference for the community now and long term.
This is my 3rd year taking part in NUC.
2024 I ran 10km a day for 31 days in October. (310km total)
2025 I ran an average of 16/2km a day for 31 days in October. (500km total)
Why 122km? There are an average of 122,000 Aussies doing it tough across the country. Going without housing, food, water, a safe place to go each night.
Having experienced this personally as a kid with my mother when I was 11 in Launceston, Tas.
I want to do my part where I can. Raise awareness, raise as much money as I can to help and support those who may be nearing homelessness.
This could be someone you know. a family member, a close friend, a colleague, someone you have walked by and spoke to in passing. People know how to put on a front and act as though life is okay and they're doing great. You would be surprised.
I want to get uncomfortable even for 24 hours (and the days after during recovery) because 1 day VS a few weeks, months, even years is nothing.

HOW LUCKY ARE WE?!
Wednesday 2nd Sep The kilometers each day and week are increasing as well as the donations.I am incredibly grateful to every single person that has donated, shared my posts, allowed me to put them up in your workplaces and giving me all the kind words and motivation.
The energy and motivation is high! Im sure the legs may give in before the challenge but as always KEEP MOVING FORWARD!
$36 is one night of save accommodation for one person. with my goal of $10,000 . that could be one night for 277 people or almost a year for one person who is in need.
I have spent more than $36 in one night on uber eats on food I didn't need, i could have easily just cooked my own food but it was convenient and 'just because.' Not everyone has that Luxury to have a smart phone with data, that can download apps, where they can click a few buttons, have the money to pay online to have food delivered to their own home.. how lucky are we?
I know its hard to justify donating to a company and not knowing directly where it goes. Just google ' we are mobilise' check out their website, their stats, their impact reports. Look at their social media where they show real people in real time getting support from all the donations.
This is year 3 of this challenge for me and it keeps getting bigger and bigger!
